The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) portal opened at 5:30am allowing you to reclaim up to 80% of a furloughed employee’s salary (capped at £2,500/month) from HMRC. It can be accessed through the Government Gateway.
We have heard that at various times this morning it has crashed for some but not for others. It is suspected that HMRC are restricting access, to keep the traffic down. We have a number of clients who have already successfully made CJRS claims and report it is easy to use and as described in the guidance circulated over the weekend, which can be accessed here.
Please note however that you do need all of the information ready before you start the application process.
